A faculty distinguished in the field of educational sciences at the local and regional levels
The Faculty of Educational Sciences
The Faculty of Educational Sciences is responsible for training educational professionals, including teachers, school principals, educational supervisors, and school counselors. In fulfilling this vital role, it hopes to make a meaningful contribution to its local community and to Jordan as a whole, It should be noted that the faculty offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs within the framework of a strategic plan developed by the faculty in accordance with the university’s strategic plan.
The faculty of Educational Sciences was established on April 25, 1991, and comprises three departments: the Department of Curriculum and Educational Administration, the Department of Counseling and Special Education, and the Department of Psychology.
The faculty has 45 faculty members, in addition to one lecturer with a master’s degree.
The Faculty of Educational Sciences oversees the Model School affiliated with Mu’tah University.
Also, ​The Faculty of Educational Sciences. In addition, The Faculty of Educational Sciences run the following units
- Queen Rania Al- Abdallah Center For Children's Studies.
- The National Institute for Community Rehabilitation.
The faculty offers five academic degrees, namely:
- Bachelor’s degrees in Classroom Teaching, Special Education, Counseling and Mental Health, and Psychology.
- General Diploma in Education.
- Advanced Diploma in Teacher Preparation
- Master’s degrees in General Curriculum and Teaching Methods, Educational Technology, Psychological and Educational Counseling, Special Education, Educational Psychology, and Educational Administration.
- Doctorate in Psychological and Educational Counseling, and Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Teaching Methods.
The faculty members have completed a number of research studies that have been published or accepted for publication, as well as research projects funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Mu’tah University or the Scientific Research Fund. They have also participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and various field studies both domestically and internationally.

The Department Of Psychology


                  Psychology is considered one of the modern applied sciences worldwide, and from this perspective, Jordan was among the first countries to introduce programs in the psychological sciences, as is the case at Mu’tah University, where a Master’s program in Educational Psychology was established. Subsequently, a Bachelor’s degree program in Psychology was introduced in the Department of Psychology, effective at the start of the 2005–2006 academic year. The faculty consists of nine members, all of whom hold doctoral degrees.

The department should be a leader in the field of counseling and special education, both academically and practically.

The Bachelor’s program in Special Education was introduced in the first semester of the 1999–2000 academic year, and the Bachelor’s program in Counseling and Mental Health was introduced in the first semester of the 2000–2001 academic year, and the Master’s program in Psychological and Educational Counseling was introduced in the first semester of the 1998–1999 academic year. At that time, these specializations were part of the Department of Psychology. In the 2000–2001 academic year, specifically at the beginning of the second semester, the Department of Counseling and Special Education was separated from the Department of Psychology, At that time, the faculty consisted of six members: five with doctoral degrees and one with a master’s degree in the specializations of Psychological and Educational Counseling and Special Education. Currently, the number of faculty members holding doctoral degrees stands at 17.  The doctoral program in Psychological and Educational Counseling was launched at the beginning of the first semester of the 2014–2015 academic year, and the master’s program in Special Education was launched at the beginning of the first semester of the 2017–2018 academic year.

The programs offered by the department are as follows:

- Bachelor’s in Special Education and Bachelor’s in Counseling and Mental Health.

- Master’s in Special Education and Master’s in Psychological and Educational Counseling.

- Doctorate in Psychological and Educational Counseling.

         The Department of Curriculum and Educational Administration is pleased to present, through this website, the department’s mission, objectives, specializations, study plans, academic degrees, and certificates it awards, as well as information about students and faculty members. This website also provides a clear picture of the department’s role and future activities. This website aims to foster continuous communication between students and various academic institutions—including faculty members and staff—as well as the university’s colleges and institutes and education faculties at universities on a local, national, and international scale. The department looks forward to receiving students’ creative proposals, stemming from constructive thinking and meaningful dialogue, to enrich and improve this website. The department emphasizes the importance of all faculty members participating in reputable international educational conferences and the necessity of conducting research, studies, and projects to apply their findings and recommendations to the educational process.


The Department of Curriculum and Educational Administration was established when the college was founded in 1991, under the name Department of Education, and remained so until 1996, when it was renamed the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Currently known as the Department of Curriculum and Educational Administration, the department offers educational programs and courses designed for elementary and secondary school teachers. These courses aim to enhance students’ and teachers’ knowledge of the subjects they teach, develop their professional expertise, and equip them with classroom skills. The department also conducts in-depth studies and ongoing evaluations of the programs it offers. It currently has more than 20 faculty members.​
